Een vacuüm/stikstof warmtebehandelingsoven is een thermisch verwerkingssysteem ontworpen om titanium componenten te verhitten onder gecontroleerde atmosferische omstandigheden — ofwel vacuüm (10⁻⁴-10⁻⁵ mbar) of inert gas (stikstof/argon terugvulling). Voor titanium is vacuüm- of inerte atmosfeerverwerking essentieel om alfa-case vorming te voorkomen — een harde, brosse, met zuurstof verrijkte oppervlaktelaag die ontstaat wanneer titanium in lucht wordt verhit boven ~480°C (900°F). In-house warmtebehandelingscapaciteit elimineert uitbestede doorlooptijd en maakt nauwkeurige controle mogelijk van spanningsontlasting (595-650°C), gloeien, verouderen (voor Ti-6Al-4V) en oplossingsbehandelingscycli.
